GOLD RIVER, BC (May 3, 2019) — Skuna Bay Salmon, the award-winning Craft Raised Salmon from Vancouver Island sends one of the world’s only female salmon farmer to the Women Chefs and Restaurateurs (WCR) 2019 National Conference in Minneapolis. WCR is a non-profit organization with a mission to advance women across the culinary industry through education, promotion, connection, and inspiration, they offer opportunities for professional development, advocacy, and mentorship.

The WCR National conference was held this year in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota from April 27 – 29. The WCR National Conference is known to provide a wide-range of hands-on opportunities for women to grow and develop their knowledge of new culinary and professional development experiences.

The Farmers of Skuna Bay were honored to supply their salmon for such an extraordinary platform. “It was an amazing opportunity to connect and collaborate with all the multi-talented women at this year’s National Conference,” said Emma Rooney, Skuna Bay Salmon Specialist. “My journey into the culinary world so far has been anything but boring, speaking alongside Jeanine on our experience the experience with these inspirational women from around the nation is something I’ll never forget.”

Representing Skuna Bay Salmon at the 2019 WCR National Conference will be our East Coast Salmon Specialist, Emma Rooney. As well as Skuna Bay’s Craftswoman Farmer, Jeanine Siemens, one of a few female salmon farmers in the world.

Skuna Bay Craft Raised Salmon is reared in the pristine waters off the coast of Vancouver Island, by a dedicated, passionate team of craftsman farmers.
